Born in Lisboa-Portugal. Undergraduate and Postgraduate Philosophy studies at Nova University of Lisbon. Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation Doctoral Fellow in the United Kingdom. Research Assistant to the Dean of Research at Heythrop College. Doctor of Philosophy-University of London with the thesis: 'The Phenomenology of Aristotle in Heidegger's Sein und Zeit: Aletheuein in the Concept of Eigentlichkeit". University of London Award for Academic Achievement 2010. Portuguese Government's Ministry of Education and Science Postdoctoral Fellow at Nova University of Lisbon and University of London. He is Integrated Researcher at FCSH-Nova University of Lisbon. Member of the Seminar of the History of Ideas. Member of the Seminar of Modern and Contemporary Thought. Visiting Research Scholar and Invited Assistant Lecturer in 2014 at the Philosophy Department of Heythrop College-University of London.His research focuses on the relation between ancient philosophy and pre-philosophical thinking and contemporary life.His interests range from presocratic Greek thought, Heraclitus, Parmenides and Pindar to Aristotle and Martin Heidegger’s thought, especially from the period 1936–1949, Nietzsche and Sophia de Mello Breyner Andresen. He has authored conference papers, book chapters, journal papers and lectured seminars on themes as diverse as truth, authenticity, selfhood, subjectivity and the sublime. He is currently completing a book on Ancient Greek Myth and Philosophical thought in the Work of the Portuguese poet Sophia de Mello Breyner Andresen.
