The general aim of this course is to enable the students to improve their ability to use English in an academic context. This overall goal translates into a concern with the students’ performance in the four language skills: reading, writing, listening and speaking.
The programme is organized around the four aforementioned language skills and the relating competences in the academic environment, hence their structuring function in terms of planned syllabus, learning outcomes and materials to be used/produced. However, overarching themes such as creativity and critical thinking, as well as issues regarding general academic discourse and style, will be present throughout all the stages of this one-month course.
