Five hundred years ago, on the 20th October, Thomas More published the princeps edition of Utopia. To celebrate this event the research units CHAM and CIAUD  organize this Congress, with a natural focus on Social Sciences and Arts and Humanities, will have seven major themes: Thomas More, Renaissance and Utopia; Literary Utopias/Dystopias; Utopianism; Utopia and the City; Utopia and the History of Ideas; Real and Imaginary Worlds and Frontiers; Ideal Societies and the perception of the Other.
