Journals published by CHAM are of international scope and are indexed in reference databases, have editorial boards mainly composed of external and foreign specialists, and are subject to a scientific refereeing system in accordance with international standards.

Between 2000 and 2022, CHAM published the Bulletin of Portuguese / Japanese Studies, an interdisciplinary journal of humanities and social sciences published in English. The BPJS was created as a result of the development of historiographical studies on the Portuguese presence in East and South-East Asia, and particularly in Japan.
