The exhibition "Gender Reading and Construction: Indoctrination against Freedom" traces a visual journey through various texts that shaped the thinking and education of girls and young women during the Iberian dictatorships. Through textbooks, children's stories, articles, and good behavior questionnaires in women's magazines, guides for the perfect housewife, bridal schools, advertisements, and other texts, the "God, Nation, and Family" ideology adopted by the Salazarist and Francoist regimes dictated morality, social roles, affectivity, and behavior, restricting women to the domestic sphere.
