The Sintra Summer School 2025 brings together experts in the study of leisure and pleasure in the context of the Iberian courts, exploring these themes within the exceptional historical settings where monarchs and courtiers engaged in hunting, banqueting, dancing, music, theatre, opera, and the enjoyment of breathtaking gardens. Key sessions will focus on festivities and banquets, music, theatre, dance, equestrian arts, falconry, and other expressions of courtly culture. 

This immersive programme, which even includes a workshop to learn court dances, offers participants a unique opportunity to examine and discuss the cultural and spatial dimensions of pleasure and leisure within the palatial settings of Spain and Portugal.
