This exhibition invites a thoughtful reflection on the abandonment of objects in the sea throughout human history, with a particular focus on contemporary marine pollution. Through a dialogue between historical artefacts and modern plastics, it explores marine pollution and the practice of beachcombing, where debris is transformed into finds with new meanings.
The presence of debris in the oceans—especially plastic—and the ecological consequences of its abandonment represent one of today's most pressing environmental challenges, with growing impacts on our planet. While some of this debris remains deposited in the “Earth archive”, other pieces are collected, catalogued, and reinterpreted, revealing forgotten stories and raising environmental awareness.
