Within the scope ofAlmada Velha project, between July 14th and 25th , as happened in 2024, the team of municipal archaeologists, professors and students from FCSH Universidade NOVA de Lisboa will carry out archaeological excavations inside the Castle, with a view to discovering new clues that confirm and reveal more information about the identity of Almada.

On July 24th (Thursday) , the Castle doors are open for you to follow and get to know the work carried out in the excavations up close.
