Meeting with the writer Margarida Ferra

As part of the seminar Feminist Theory and Literary Experience (Master’s in Women’s Studies), a meeting will be held with Portuguese writer Margarida Ferra, on the occasion of her recent work Saber Perder. The event will take place on 20 October, in room D120 (Building D, Av. de Berna), starting at 6 p.m. Attendance is open to all interested participants.

Margarida Ferra was born in Lisbon in 1977. She graduated in Communication Sciences at FCSH – UNL, where she also pursued a Master’s degree in Museology, focusing on the relationship between museums, people, and literature. She has worked in bookshops and publishing houses. She was Head of Communications at Casa Fernando Pessoa – Museum of Literature and at the Puppet Museum. She published, with the now-defunct publisher &etc, the poetry collections Curso Intensivo de Jardinagem (2010) and Sorte de Principiante (2013). She also authored two children’s biographies: Chamo-me Florbela Espanca (Didática, 2011) and Chamo-me Elvis Presley (Didática, 2012). She currently works at Quinta Alegre – Um Teatro em Cada Bairro, a municipal project for community-based cultural programming in Santa Clara, Lisbon. In 2025, she published Saber Perder (Companhia das Letras), as part of the literary non-fiction collection.
