In a joint initiative by the Horta Cultural Centre, Horta City Council and CHAM – Centre for the Humanities, the 9th Colloquium “Faial and the Azorean Periphery in the 15th to 20th Centuries” will be held on the island of Faial from 2 to 5 November this year. The 9th Colloquium “Faial and the Azorean Periphery in the 15th to 20th Centuries” will be held on the island of Faial from 2 to 5 November this year, with the aim of stimulating research, debate and dissemination of topics that focus mainly on the islands of Santa Maria, Graciosa, S. Jorge, Pico, Faial, Flores and Corvo.

The thematic areas of the colloquium will be as follows: Governance and Autonomy; Agriculture, Trade and Industry; Society, Population and Emigration; Beliefs and Customs; and Culture, Art and Heritage.

The call for papers is open until May 31.
