Following several years of collaboration with Brazilian academics, NOVA FCSH will host the 2nd Luso-Brazilian Leibniz Translation Colloquium, organised by IFILNOVA in collaboration with CHAM. Dedicated to the study, translation and interpretation of the work of G. W. Leibniz, the colloquium’s central theme is Leibniz and Cartesianism. Building on the multiple forms of Leibniz’s critical dialogue with Cartesian philosophy, the colloquium aims to deepen our understanding of the reception and translation of Cartesian philosophy within Leibnizian thought, as well as to explore the philological, philosophical and historical challenges involved in the interpretation and translation of Leibniz’s writings on this subject.
