CHAM invites everyone to an open lecture with guest speaker Mimi Sheller.

 

Mimi Sheller is Director of The Global School at Worcester Polytechnic Institute and Professor of Sociology in the Department of Integrative and Global Studies. Internationally recognised in the field of mobility studies and considered one of the leading theorists of mobility justice, she is the founder of the journal "Mobilities" and editor of the journal "Transfers: Interdisciplinary Journal of Mobility Studies". She is currently the principal investigator for two projects funded by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, part of the Caribbean Climate Adaptation Network. Her extensive work includes the books "Mobility Justice: The Politics of Movement in an Age of Extremes" (2018), "Island Futures: Caribbean Survival in the Anthropocene" (2020) and "Advanced Introduction to Mobilities" (2021).
