Marc Bloch will be honoured with a formal induction into the Panthéon of the French Republic in June 2026. This symbolic gesture represents much more than a posthumous honour: it is the recognition of a singular figure whose life and work have left an indelible mark on contemporary historiography and, with it, on the very idea of intellectual commitment in the 20th century. This conference is linked to these commemorations not only to celebrate the author, but to critically reassess the operative force of his work in our present day.
