Tabaco e Escravos nos Impérios Ibéricos

A Permanent Seminar on the History of Tobacco was created in 2012, involving Spanish and Portuguese universities, with the aim of conducting a comparative study of tobacco in the two Iberian empires. This book results from the work of several international researchers and seeks to correlate the basic elements of the Iberian Atlantic system between the 17th and 19th centuries: on the one hand, the tobacco monopolies embedded in the imperial realities; and on the other hand, the role played by slave trading in the tobacco industry.
