“Historia Obscura: The Philippines in 16th and 17th Century Portuguese Sources”

“Historia Obscura: The Philippines in 16th and 17th Century Portuguese Sources” is the title of the latest publication resulting from the institutional partnership established between CHAM, the National Historical Commission of the Philippines (NHCP), and the Philippine Embassy in Portugal.
These volumes reveal the Portuguese perception of the Philippines during the centuries studied, contributing to the historical understanding of relations between the two countries. The selection and translation of the documents was carried out as part of the ‘The Philippine History Retrieval Project - Portugal’, coordinated by researcher Paulo Jorge de Sousa Pinto.
