This Master's course fosters in-depth training on the major subject areas of heritage specialisation, as well as the development of cross-cutting methodologies suited for reflection and research in the fields of cultural programming and programme sustainability. The course is meant to provide the skills required to deal with a wide range of situations arising from heritage work, including some areas that are barely addressed in the context of higher education in Portugal, such as the discussion of identity constructions and public policies. This will provide qualification and training in work processes and the opportunity to access different employment markets, in central, regional and local public administration, research centres, companies, cooperatives, associations or foundations. The course involves theoretical and practical training closely linked to the NOVA FCSH research centres, particularly CHAM - Centre for the Humanities, through the 'Heritage and current challenges' line of research. Moreover, it will provide access to a network of protocols with state institutions, autonomous regions, local authorities, companies, archives and libraries, museums and sites, ensuring close links between the university, researchers and professionals.
