Book launch 10.11.2023
Lua, Fronteira da Terra
05:30 pm (Açores); 06:30 pm (Lisboa) | online

The landing of Apollo 11 was a historical event celebrated worldwide. It had a decisive influence on both subsequent space exploration work and everyday life on Earth, as well as on the popular imagination. In this volume, the Moon is seen as a frontier, in its dual role as the Earth’s only satellite and a planet in its own right, analyzing how these two facets have led to different intellectual and emotional approaches to the Moon.

At the launch event, João de Figueirôa-Rêgo (CHAM Publishers), Rui Magalhães (Húmus Editions), and the book's coordinators, Leonor Sampaio da Silva and Susana Serpa Silva (CHAM, NOVA FCSH / UAc), will be present. The session will also feature the participation of authors Maria Leonor Pavão, Margarida Rendeiro, Pedro Garcia, and Onésimo Teotónio Almeida.
