2nd Cycle of Lectures01.03.2012
Luso-Italian Relations during the Medieval and Early Modern Periods
Italians’ Lisbon: Art and History (14th-18th centuries)

In 2011, the 1st cycle of Luso-Italian lectures became a platform to present new studies and research clues about the Italian community in Lisbon, during the Early Modern Age. The wide variety of topics approached, form art to religion, from trade to medicine, demonstrated that there is still much to research. Moreover, due to the positive reception of these lectures on the Italian presence in Lisbon during the 14th-18th centuries and the many questions raised by the general public, we assembled a group of researchers from Portuguese and foreign institutions, focusing their researches on this topic aiming to provide some answers, thus further developing this context. This 2nd cycle, continuing a path started in 2011, focuses on the city of Lisbon, following the trail left by the Italian presence residing or just passing through, aiming to reconstruct the memory, between art, heritage and history, of the Italian Lisbon during the the Medieval and Early Modern periods.
