The International Congress ‘The Portuguese in the Hispanic Monarchy (16th-17th centuries): identities, integration and exclusion in a composite imperial space” will take place at the School of Social and Human Sciences of the NOVA University of Lisbon, at the Almada Negreiros College, on the 6th and 7th of June 2024. This event, organised by CHAM - Centre for Humanities, FCSH of the NOVA University of Lisbon, within the framework of the activities programmed by the international project FAILURE, coordinated by the Madrid Institute for Advanced Study, aims to create a space for discussion and debate in relation to the Portuguese communities, and their integration or exclusion, within the scope of the Hispanic Monarchy.

To achieve this objective, more than thirty prestigious researchers will participate and reflect on this issue from the domain of their speciality.
