Rioting in the Early Modern Iberian worlds
Call for proposals: 15.01.2025

In the sequence of the RESISTANCE project (MSCA-RISE), of which CHAM was a partner, researchers Pablo Sánchez León and Pedro Cardim have just launched the Rioting in the Early Modern Iberian worlds initiative. Rioting! aims to create a network focusing on revolts in the Portuguese and Hispanic empires during the early modern period, reflecting on the category ‘revolt’ or ‘riot’ in dialogue with theories of collective action and the history of social movements, and problematising it as a process and political phenomenon. One of the aims of this network is to prepare proposals for competitive national and international funding in the coming years.

At the moment, work teams are being formed to research and problematise revolts in the modern Iberian world and the organisers have an open call for proposals to join this network.

Proposals can be sent to psleon@fcsh.unl.pt by 15 January 2025.
