Pedro Cardim earned the degree of Aggregate in History in 2013 by Universidade Nova de Lisboa, Faculty of Social and Human Sciences. PhD in History in 2000 from Universidade Nova de Lisboa, and BA in History in 1989 from Universidade Nova de Lisboa. He serves as Associate Professor at the Universidade Nova de Lisboa, Department of History. He held visiting professorships at Yale University, École des Hautes Études en Sciences Sociaes (Paris), New York University, Universidad Pablo de Olavide, in Seville, and Université de Toulouse Jean Jaurès. He published 26 articles in academic journals, 101 book chapters and 7 books, some of them as editor. In his professional activities, he interacted with 14 collaborators in co-authoring scientific works. In his Ciência Vitae curriculum, the most frequent terms in the context of scientific, technological and artistic-cultural production are: History; Cortes de Portugal; Colonial government; Salvador da Bahia; Iberian monarchies.
