Identities, narratives, and connecting with others, with Nuno Miguel Proença
“What need drives human beings to ask themselves who they are?” This was the first question answered by Nuno Miguel Proença in an interview about identity and narrative, which raised many questions and reflections. The CHAM researcher explains how self-knowledge and self-understanding are closely related to others and the world, as well as to collective memory. “Answering the question of who we are takes us to the future rather than the past,” emphasizes Nuno Miguel Proença, showing that identity is open to impermanence, difference, and the unknown. The interview is conducted by Joana Rodrigues.
