On 24 April 2026, NOVA FCSH will host researchers from the Universities of Porto and Lisbon and from Wikimedia Portugal to discuss the use of Wikimedia tools in higher education.

The event is open to the entire academic community – researchers, lecturers and students – and to the general public. The programme is divided into two sessions: the first will present various projects based on different platforms within the Wikimedia universe – including Wikipedia, Wikibase/Wikidata, Wikimedia Commons, and Wikisource – looking at practical cases developed internationally but with a primary focus on the University of Porto and the University of Lisbon; the second session, which will take place in the afternoon, will be of a practical nature and will be dedicated to Wikisource and the use of these tools for the development of open science projects.

The meeting will take place at Avenida de Berna, Tower A, Room A101, between 10:00 am and 5:00 pm.
