The project Women in Literature and Visual Arts: Representations of Indigenous and Afro-Brazilians brings together the Federal University of Santa Catarina (UFSC), the Federal University of Jataí and the CHAM. The team includes integrated researchers Margarida Rendeiro and Federica Lupati, who are continuing a research network that began with the project Women's Literature: Memories, Peripheries and Resistance in the Luso-Afro-Brazilian Atlantic, coordinated by Margarida Rendeiro and co-coordinated by Susan de Oliveira, from UFSC and the project's proponent.
The project aims to select and analyse, from a comparative perspective, literary and visual works by women in Brazil and Portugal, which explore self-representation and critically review and reread colonial stereotypes and traditions. The project also involves offering master's and doctoral scholarships to encourage the training of students, preferably women of African descent and indigenous people, who come from the Indigenous Intercultural Degree in the South of the Atlantic Forest and are part of the different postgraduate programmes at UFSC, who will come to NOVA University of Lisbon to attend master's and doctoral courses.
