From 2004 to 2005 I was an assistant professor at the Brumadinho ASA College (Minas Gerais, Brazil), teaching History of the Iberian Civilization, History of Brazil and Historical Archives and Museums. This project aimed to analyze the impacts of the railway in the region. At the same time, I taught training courses in Paleographic Studies in several private universities. In order to analyze the similarities and differences between the formation of illegitimate families in Sabará (Minas Gerais, Brazil) and Braga (Minho, Portugal), I applied for the Alban Program (European Union High Level Scholarship Program for Latin America) for work on a PhD Dissertation at the University of Minho. I received the Alban scholarship between 2005 and 2008. In the last year of PhD (2009), I received a research grant for foreigners (Foreign Research Scholarship) at the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation. From 2010 to 2011, I was a consultant in the project funded by FCT, "Small Nobility and Nobility of the Earth in the construction of the empire: Atlantic archipelagos" being responsible for the review of digitized documents and their transposition into the textual format, using OCR Tools. Between 2011 and 2017 I was a post-doc scholar at FCT to develop, in CHAM, the project "Between the Lords of the House and Relatives: Secretaries and servants of the Portuguese embassies in London and Paris (1640-1815)". In 2019, under the Decree-Law no 57/2016, I was hired as a researcher by FCSH/ UNL at CHAM, where I currently work being responsible for two research projects being, one of them still in the area of the History of Portuguese Diplomacy and the other, with a regional character, on the Algarve Maritime Commitments.
