Anahí Meyer Riera has a degree in Art History from the Universidad de las Islas Baleares (UIB). She is a senior technician in Conservation and Restoration of Cultural Property at the Escola Superior de Conservació i Restauració de Béns Culturals de Catalunya (ESCRBCC), specialising in painting. She attended one semester of the Conservation-Restoration of Movable Cultural Property course at the Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais (CECOR-UFMG), specialising in documents and books. Between 2012 and 2013, she completed an MA degree in Conservation and Restoration of Contemporary Art at the Complutense University of Madrid (UCM). Her dissertation entitled "O Papel na Arte Contemporânea: O impacto das intervenções de humidificação e prensado" (Paper in Contemporary Art: The Impact of Humidification and Pressing Interventions) was awarded a citation of excellence.
Dedicated to the preservation of cultural heritage since 2009, she has developed projects in various institutions and countries, such as the Centro de Restauración de Bienes Muebles de la Generalitat de Catalunya (CRBMC), the installation and coordination of the Centro de Conservación y Restauración del Archivo Histórico de Yucatán (CREYUC) and the position of conservation and restoration officer for the Sacred Art Commission of the Archdiocese of Yucatán, Mexico. In Portugal, she collaborated with the Regional Directorate for Cultural Affairs of the Government of the Azores, at the Angra do Heroísmo Museum (MAH) and the Luís da Silva Ribeiro Public Library and Archive (BPARLSR).
A researcher at CHAM since December 2020, she is studying for a PhD degree in Atlantic Islands: History, Heritage and Legal & Institutional Framework at the University of the Azores (UAC). She has a scholarship from the Regional Foundation for Science and Technology (FRCT) and is currently working on document conservation in historical archives, within the research project “A salvaguarda do património arquivístico eclesiástico dos Açores: os acervos paroquiais” (Safeguarding the ecclesiastical archival heritage of the Azores: parish collections).
