Bruna Valério holds a degree in History and a master’s degree in Insular and Atlantic History (15th - 20th centuries), both obtained by the University of the Azores. With a growing interest in gender history, she was part of the research project team Trabalho (no) Feminino (1850 - 1926) - História dos Açores, funded by the Direção Regional da Ciência e Tecnologia - Ref. M1.1.C/C.S./022/2019/01. Currently, she is a doctoral candidate in the PhD program in Atlantic Islands: History, Heritage and Legal Institutional Framework, offered by the University of the Azores in association with the University of Madeira, the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, and the University of La Laguna. Her doctoral thesis is being supervised by Susana Serpa Silva, entitled Mãos femininas nas indústrias da ilha de S. Miguel (Açores): a mulher operária no período do Estado Novo (1933 a 1968).
