Ágatha is PhD Integrated Researcher at CHAM and Marie Skłodowska-Curie Fellow. She is currently dedicating herself to develop the “The Royal Patronages in a global perspective. Governance, spiritual jurisdiction and resistances in the Iberian Empires, 1622-1738” research project (GA 101155278) which is funded within the framework of Marie Sklodowska-Curie Postdoctoral Fellowship Research Programme (HORIZON- MSCA-2023-PF-01). She has a degree in History and obtained a Master´s Degree in Social History (2010) and a PhD in Economic History (2021) from Faculdade de Filosofia, Letras e Ciências Humanas, Universidade de São Paulo (FFLCH/USP). She studies the History of Portuguese colonization, dedicating her analysis specially to comprehend the intertwining between the religious sphere and the colonial policies in the overseas territories. She mainly works on the following topics: Modern History, History of the Portuguese Empire, missionary policies, Iberian Patronages, diplomatic relations between Portugal and Holy See, Juntas de Missões, Propaganda Fide.
