Fernando Pessanha holds a PhD in Historical Heritage from the University of Huelva, a Master’s degree in Algarve History, and a Bachelor’s degree in Cultural Heritage from the University of Algarve. He is a full-time researcher at CHAM – Centre for the Humanities of NOVA University Lisbon, as well as a member of the Naval Academy and the Iberian Association of Military History. He has authored several books and dozens of scientific articles published in Portugal, Spain, and Morocco, with a particular focus on Military History, Naval History, and the History of Portuguese Expansion. Currently, he works at the Municipality of Vila Real de Santo António.
