Heritage is a transversal theme in the problematization and construction of knowledge in the humanities, being part of current R&I agendas and of public policy strategies.

The Heritage and current challenges thematic line benefits from the multidisciplinary training of researchers, promoting internal discussion on the challenges that Heritage faces in its multiple aspects, in order to structure a convergent action and a positioning of the research unit according to national and international debates. It also serves to identify and involve researchers in training actions aimed at the creation of competences and the consequent enhancement of the heritage value of the scientific work at CHAM.

The Heritage and current challenges line works in strict collaboration with the other thematic lines of the centre, aggregating all the researchers and stimulating their participation in the different forums of citizen, cultural and scientific intervention.
