The 1st Cycle of Conferences 'Textiles, Trade and Taste' emerges as an initiative of the ongoing project with the same name, affiliated with the CHAM research group 'The Arts and Portuguese Expansion.' It consists of a series of presentations taking place once a month, between November 2015 and June 2016, aiming to disseminate some of the research on textiles that has been developed more recently in Portugal in the fields of History, Art History, and Science.
To attract more attention to the theme and create more synergies among the interested public, experts, and institutions holding textile heritage, the sessions will take place in different spaces where collections include specimens targeted by the mentioned research.
