Silvana Roque de Oliveira is an integrated researcher at CHAM - Humanities Center of the New University of Lisbon (NOVA) and an associate researcher at CEIS20 - Center for Interdisciplinary Studies at the University of Coimbra (UC), in addition to being trainer at BAD (Portuguese Association of Librarians, Archivists and Information and Documentation Professionals).
She was an Invited Lecturer in Information Science at UC in 2019-2020 and UNL between 2008-2016.
She worked as assistant researcher in some Information Science projects on archival inventory and bibliographic resource description and in History projects regarding the Portuguese presence in India and East Timor, at the Historical Archives of Goa (India).
She worked on the science management team at CHAM (2008) and was on the editorial board of the Bulletin of Portuguese-Japanese Studies (2000-2003) and the Anais de História de Além-Mar (2011-2014).
She holds a PhD in Information Science (UC, 2022), with a thesis on Information Science in Portugal (1989-2016) from a bibliometric perspective, a Specialization Course in Data Analysis and Information Visualization (UNL, 2022), a DEA in Documentation (Univ. Alcalá, 2010), a Master in History and Archeology of the Portuguese Expansion (15th-18th centuries) (UNL, 2009), a Specialization Course in Information and Documentation Sciences (UNL, 2007) and a Degree in History (UNL, 1994).
She is interested in Bibliometrics and Responsible Metrics, Scientific evaluation, History of Information Science, Documental Heritage, Information Ethics, and Information Visualization.
