Hugo Filipe Castanheira Guerreiro is an archivist and IT developer at the Mário Soares Foundation, an organization dedicated to social sciences and the humanities, where he applies his knowledge and skills in information, communication, and computer sciences, and contemporary history. Hugo Guerreiro completed his licenciatura degree (honours bachelor equivalent) in Early Modern and Contemporary History in 2005, and a MA in Information and Digital Libraries Studies in 2006 - both at ISCTE-Instituto Universitário de Lisboa. He is currently completing his licenciatura (honours bachelor equivalent) in Information Technologies at the Faculty of Sciences, University of Lisbon. In 2010-2013, Hugo Guerreiro was the Mário Soares Foundation's lead IT developer in its contribution to the Heritage of the People's Europe project. This international initiative, associated with the European Union's ICT Policy Support Programme, counted with contributions from eleven institutions in ten different countries, with the goal of making over 880,000 digital objects available through Europeana (europeana.eu) and the Social History Portal (socialhistoryportal.org). He is also the lead developer of the online platforms supporting the digital humanities projects Casa Comum (casacomum.org) and Revistas de Ideais e Cultura (ric.slhi.pt).
