11:00 am – «From Via Verde to the personal diary: Automatic Recognition and Artificial Intelligence», Hervé Baudry (CHAM).
Increasingly, machines observe us in our daily lives, capturing our car license plates as we enter the highway, our faces on the streets, and more. In this technological field, there is still much ground to cover. Thus, automatic recognition devices should not only be seen as objects for surveillance or policing. The history of optical recognition began a century ago with letters. In this field, technology has progressed immensely. In this discussion, we aim to address the following questions: What does Artificial Intelligence offer us? How can we utilize it? And for what purposes?
