Forms of Resistance in the 16th to 19th Centuries: Ongoing Investigation

The project RESISTANCE. Rebellion and Resistance in the Iberian Empires, 16th-19th centuries intends to study resistance of subordinated social groups in Iberian empires of the past (1500-1850) from a “bottom-up” perspective. It pursues a comparative approach between different spaces, comprising Europe, America, Asia and Africa. The analysis will cover both, phenomena of active and passive resistance, as well as its real transforming impacts. .
